Gold Dust is thrilled to announce another book deal for a Gold Dust graduate. Stephanie Scott, mentored by Louise Doughty, who’s novel What’s Left Of Me Is Yours will be published in the spring of 2020.
‘On Louise Doughty – words simply fail me. She is the most wonderful mentor I could ever have hoped to have. She is my guiding light and has provided advice on everything: from getting to the end of a first draft, when to send the novel out to agents, public speaking and the business of writing life. She gave me the courage to take myself seriously as a writer and to write professionally. I am more grateful than I can ever say.’
W&N Publisher, Kirsty Dunseath said: ‘This is a beautiful, touching love story as well as an exploration of human frailty and the tensions between family duty and personal freedom. Stephanie’s writing is exquisite and this story unfurls in unexpected ways as Sumiko tries to make sense of her mother’s past. We are absolutely delighted to welcome Stephanie to W&N!’
Stephanie Scott said: “I am very excited to be working with Kirsty and her team at W&N, their passion and enthusiasm for What’s Left Of Me Is Yours is truly wonderful and I am so pleased that my novel has found such a perfect home.”
