Sally-Anne Martyn

Sally-Anne grew up near Sheffield, in the north of England. She has worked as a writer, film and television extra and formerly as an auxiliary nurse, including a spell working in one of the last Victorian asylums in England. Sally-Anne was accepted as a Gold Dust mentee in 2019, and is effusive about the guidance she received from Sarah May: ‘In 2019 I attended a Tony Robbins (US motivational speaker) live event. He said that if you really wanted to do something, you should go home and find ‘the best’ at what you want to do and learn from them. I started searching and found Gold Dust Writers: (which describes itself as ‘the original and the best’ mentoring scheme). I contacted them, sending in my 5k words and waited. I was over the moon when I was accepted by Sarah May, a multi published author.

Together we have worked on my books and without her I just wouldn’t be where I am now. She is not only a brilliant editor and mentor during the writing part, but she was always there to support throughout the tough querying and submission process. I can’t recommend this scheme and Sarah enough, it is the best thing I have done with regards to my writing progression.’
