First up, Gold Dust is delighted to recommend to you the agent Jenny Savill. Jenny represents two authors linked to our team. Rosie Nixon (taught on a writing retreat by Jill Dawson) and newly published Gold Dust graduate (mentored by Sally Cline) Eleanor Anstruther.
Jenny joined Andrew Nurnberg Associates in 2002 and is a Director of the company, placing authors in the UK and US markets. Always keen to find new voices in 7+, Middle Grade and Young Adult writing, Jenny is also very much on the look-out for writers of literary fiction, commercial and literary women’s fiction, well-written thrillers and psychological suspense, historical fiction (the whole gamut – including alternate histories), memoir and narrative non-fiction. High fantasy is not her thing, though she is partial to a story with a slight, speculative thread running through it. Jenny welcomes originality, depth, and the ability to move and surprise in submissions.
Her authors include Natasha Pulley, international bestselling author of The Watchmaker of Filigree Street (Bloomsbury), Eleanor Anstruther, whose debut A Perfect Explanation was longlisted for the Desmond Elliott Prize 2019, and Fred Fordham, who adapted the graphic novel of Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird (PRH)). Recent highlights have included the UK sale at auction of Pan’s Labyrinth: The Labyrinth of the Faun by Cornelia Funke and Guillermo del Toro (Bloomsbury), and a pre-emptive deal for The Unadoptables by debut children’s author Hana Tooke (Puffin) and Neema Shah’s literary debut Kololo Hill to Picador.
